One way to tell if it's love is to ask yourself some questions. Do you wake up thinking about him? Do you find it impossible to go back to sleep once you think about him? Do you feel like you are floating every time you're with him? Does your heart skip a beat every time you think about him? Is he the only thing you think about morning, noon, and night? If your answer to all of these questions is "yes", then you're probably in love.
Be smart about how you love though. He's not the right guy for you if he's telling you what you can and can't do. He's not your father and you don't need another. He's not the right guy if he beats you or slaps you. It is impossible to tell how he would treat you later on in the relationship. But one sign is how he treats his mother. If he respects his mom and treats her well, he's likely to be good to you too.
My advice is to make a list of qualities you want in a guy for marriage (or however you decide you want to spend your life with a guy). A good list includes these things:
He respects you and lets you be an individual
He speaks calmly (& knows how to communicate) when he's angry
He doesn't try to control your decisions
He doesn't put you down, nor does he insult you
He doesn't call you bad names
You can add other things to the list. Be aware that there is no perfect guy. You have to decide which qualities you absolutely want him to have and which qualities you can do without. (Like, if you want him to be a good dancer. It might not be a necessary quality. You might like someone who dances horribly and decide you can live with a bad dancer).
There is no 100% guarantee that you'll end up with the right guy. But you'll have a much better chance of a succesful relationship if you know what you want and need.

Trust me... when "the right" guy comes along you will know. I was asking myself this very question for 5 years when I was with who I thought would eventually be my husband. Then out of the blue I met someone and I just knew he was the one. I think if you have to ask yourself this question then you are not with the right person.

If he makes you smile just by thinking about him and if he treats you right and is attentive . if he does not abuse you and if all you ever say about him when you are asked are good things cause you see no flaws.
