Wikipedia is an open forum just like this one! That means that people can put in an answer on a topic and have it be all made up! that is why you should not ask wipipedia. However when you do find things that are true in the website, it informs you on quite a bit of info! So either way, if you are up to doing a lot of searching then wikipedia might be a better source, but yahoo is more a blog anyway, so any way you look at it it's a lose lose situation!

Because wikipedia is a public encyclopedia, so there's no gaurentee that the information in it is accurate. Then again, this a also a public domain, so I wouldn't completely trust this either. At leat with Yahoo!Answers, you get a variety of responses.

because people like to ask questions like "why didn't i just ask wikipedia?" wikipedia just can't answer those types of questions

wikipedia has the stark truth and answers but here has the randomness of crazy human nature and is therefore endlessly more entertaining to read the facts buried withing the crazy answers!

Most of the questions could be answered that way, but I think some, if not most, people are wanting other peoples opinions.
