And to add, to this problem, the majority of all magazines have white women only. Why not create ONE magazine for women with all races of men that resembles Maxim.

Answer to one response: what if there were lots of guy models and super good stories and ads. Would that not be better than buying it to look at other women. Doesn't that make anyone feel weird.

Cosmo's pretty close - except they don't put the guy on the cover. If you want to see guys without their shirts, you can find it there. Oh, there are also articles to read. Not very challenging reading.

Good question.
Here's my take on it: what appeals to men simply doesn't appeal to women.
Men are more visual creatures. They will stop and gawk at a supposedly-sexy magazine cover and may buy said publication just for the pictures.
However, women are a different story. Women demand a bit more from our publications, like content and substance. It's not enough to have some baby-oiled, hunk on the cover to sell units. Most women think it's tacky (ever wonder why Playgirl isn't one the top 50 widely read magazines and Playboy is?)
Simply, the formula for men's mags doesn't work for women.

You have to be creative lady. You can probably satisfy yourself with one of the many Men's fitness magazines. You'll get the skin but no packages and nuts; Maxim like. I hear back in the day before Playboy ( 1950's), dudes would skim through the National Geographic magazine looking for naked natives. Just think outside the box.

Because supposedly, women don't want to look at men in a magazine like men do women. We just want to talk and share our feelings. I guess that's what Cosmo is for. Yeah, right. I'm on board. I think a magazine for women like Maxim would be awesome. Can you picture it? That's one magazine I would definitely subscribe to.
Is Playgirl still around? I just looked it up. It is.

Well honey it's becuase women don't like to look at porn, and some women think it's wrong for other women to look at porn. Well there is some for gay men like playgirl. But I know some women who like looking at Play Girl. So I should reccomend that magazine for you.

Probably because people think it's "wrong" and "improper" for women to look at porn. People always frown upon it.. yet it's okay for men to look at dirty magazines.. because they're just "men" It's kinda sexist really.

Redbook is good. the articles are real, not just a bunch of perfume and make-up ads.
Playgirl is good. but i wanna see real guys, too. some of them are too....? i wanna see a picture of a guy that will make me blush, and smile at the same time. and the doesn't mean just naked either.
