Over the years I've seen too many people (male and female alike) treat others like last week's garbage when online. There is so much bile and poison spewed that sometimes you feel like you need Haz-Mat gear just to be in the vicinity of these people. Why do they think because they are hidden behind a monitor they can now totally disregard common social ettiquete?

Professor Riddle....I should clarify. I see this behavior more in chat than in Yahoo! Answers. I understand fun and teasing, no problem with that. We could all use more of it!

For some people anonymity means have super powers.. they can do/ say/ be anything they like with no repercussions.... to me its a real indication of their true personalities that they have to repress and hide every day in real life... since real people would never tolerate their rude, insulting, nasty behavior....... PS Professor Riddle has even suggested to me that I join Stupid Questions Anonymous on several occasions...lol...

Anonomity enables people to be more free with their answers and manners or lack there of.It can become a game, not taken seriously. And from what I see, there are more silly questions than serious questions in this format. Why do you attack the whole community that does not agree with you. This isnt dear Abby.It can be fun,and fulfilling and yes, make you laugh when you see someones rediculous question harpooned and made fun of.That might be offensive to you,but hilarious to 5 million people out there online.Who is right?

One reason is because some people are haters. They feel that this is a safe place to spew their hate out on others without getting their *** beat. They are just miserable people because they have nothing to offer so they treat others like garbage so they don't have to feel like garbage themselves.

I think that is their true skins. They are rude in nature. Since they don't have to review themselves to the community, they can be themselve.

However, if there is a system that people can give a negative feedback to these people then they will be less incline to do such thing.

But that's it...they are anonymous behind the computer screen. What can anyone do to me...I am incincible because I am invisible. Living your life this way, will limit any and all interaction with human contact.

What makes you think that they do this only online?
I have to believe that this is their real self in everyday life. Even if they do not display it every day, they have the capability and the propensity do so at the first provocation.
