Well starting an radio station! good move. Well you need to decide how you want it. You want it to be professional like you hear it (Radio- air waves) or you want one that just plays music over the Internet. If you want your radio to sound professional you need to shell a lot of money, believe me. Again rules apply, depends on which country you reside. You just cannot play any music of your choice. Royalty is an other issue. Well about a real time radio i wont comment but you can check this out. Here you can broadcast your radio. But people who have this software can only listen to your radio.

Visit this website to download the software.

and download the IM radio. follow the instructions and you are done. Second option is you can download winamp and then download the shoutcast plug in to broadcast your radio. Here you should have an extreme fast Internet connecion with static IP.

Hope all this info helps you.

visit live365.com - they have a box on there that says something like "how do i start an internet radio station?". I reckon the idea is that they will do it for you and all you need to do is play records. I have no idea if that makes it a good deal or a bad one.

Here is a sourceforge search of internet radio projects you can download and use. Some for on a webserver, some for on your home machine, some using the gnutella (limewire) network..

Not all are perfect matches, but that should not be a problem.
