Let your husband know that it is ok to worry, that is part of parenting but don't let that worry interfere with you all getting a good night's sleep! Everyone slept better once I moved my son to the next room (2months). Also, it could be that he doesn't feel ready to see you as his wife yet when he thinks you should be the mommy. Let him know you can and should be both.

I was not comfortable using a bassinet. I have a friend who used one and it collapsed. My son has been in his own crib since the day he came home from the hospital...in his own room. The first few nights I was a little nervous, but it went away pretty fast. Trying to get a baby to re-adjust from one sleeping situation to another is never easy so we did the crib and his own room right from the beginning.
At 4 1/2 months your daughter is moving in her sleep and learning how to roll. I don't think she's as safe in a bassinet as she will be in a crib.
Good luck!
P.S. Check the manual that came with the bassinet to make sure your baby is within the height and weight requirements to still be using it.

We moved our baby to the crib between 6-8 weeks (She never would have fit in her bassinet at 4 months old). The baby will probably have an easier transition the younger she is--just something to think about.

Don't worry as much about her age as her size. Is she big enough to take up a lot of room in the bassinet? If she is, it would be much better for her if you move her to her crib. And what's your husband's problem? What's the difference in the bassinet and the crib? If it's because the bassinet is in the room with you, it's time she moved to her own room anyway. I hated so bad moving my kids out of my room, but I use their baby monitors and love it. I know what's going on, but I also have the privacy I need with my husband. Think about it.

We switched at four weeks.
This was because I was such a nervious nelly. I hovered over his crib all night long. I just laid there with my face peering over the side of the bassinet so I could be there immediately when he needed me. I was such a freak!
Anyway, we moved him into his crib at four weeks. We had no transition problems at all. I expected some since he was so little and such a new place. Nope, he sleep the whole night through - 5 hours. But, that was the whole night for me, lol.
He still loves his crib. We have no problems putting him down. Except now he's at that stage where he wants mommy all the time. But, other than that he is doing well.
My husband felt really guilty about moving him in the crib so early. In the mornings we would take him to our bed until it was time for hubby to go to work. Or, until we got up to snag some coffee at Panera.

my daughter started sleeping in a crib when she was 3 months old, she was just getting too big for the bassinet. how big is your baby in relation to the bassinet, does your baby come close to touching by his head and feet? if she does, its time to move her to a crib. i think by 4 1/2 months the baby is too big for a bassinet, but maybe you have a small baby.

I moved my baby from the bassinet to the crib when she could no longer fit in her bassinet (she's tall), and when she started learning to flip herself over (which was about 5 months). It gets dangerous for babies to be in the bassinet once they start wriggling or flipping over because they can fall from the bassinet. So I think that you can start trying to put your baby down in the crib to see if she likes it.
Just make sure that the crib has no stuff toys or blankets or any toys in it while your daughter is sleeping on the crib to avoid potential risks for suffocation. No pillows either.
Goodluck!

What I did is I had my baby since he came home to sleep in his crib during the day and in the bassinet with me at night. When he became a month old (just last Sunday)I moved him to sleep in his crib at night too and he hasn't given me any trouble.

She moved from the bassinet to the crib when she couldn't fit in it any more. too long, heavy, can turn. Use your best judgement for the baby. Cribs are more spacious and you want the baby to get use to sleeping in it cause they can use it till they're about 2-3? something like that.

We never used a bassinet. Our 2 month old twins sleep in their crib.

We never used a bassinet but you could always go by the weight limits on the bassinet. Some say you have to move the baby out by the time s/he weighs 15 pounds.
