i'd like to live an adequate life, with enough money to keep me going day to day, maybe support a family. you can be poor and miserable and rich and miserable. i prefer to stay away from both extremes.

Hmm..
If you die rich that means you once lived rich...
And if you die poor, that means you lived poor...
We will all one day die and being rich has nothing to do with dying. So why not die rich!

Rich means to "have the things u want in life"
Poor means to "not have the things u want in life"
So what do i want??? Peace of mind when i come back from job; a job that i love to do; a family that loves me ; good relation with friends; happy relation with God.
Yeah I have all of these and more. SO I am RICH and alive 2 tell it to u

i would rather die poor that away i dont have ppl fighting over my money, im poor now an alot happier than ppl who are rich, they have more problems than poor ppl, yes i work for aliving, but im alot happier, i have a family who loves me, i find more things that make me happy that dont cost much, i have a home and a half way descent car that gets me to where i need to go. i may not be able to give my children everything they want but aleast they will appreciate it when they do get it and they are not spoiled brats like most ritch familys who give there kids everything whenever and whatever they want .i they dont appreciate things in life as much as poor ppl do. i can have more fun at the park with my kids than going to an amusement park, or to the movies, and its a treat for us when we do get to go do stuff like that.

Live poor. What's the point of dying rich? You can't take it with you.

depends on whether I was happy or not. If I was happy then I'd rather live poor, if I was unhappy then I'd rather die rich and be buried with all my riches.

As a child I grew up in th 60s very poor. I ate from trash cans behind diners. In the Summer you contended with flies, ants, maggots and roaches, (really). In Winter, you tried to get the food before it froze. Locked out nightly untill closing time by alcoholic parents, I stole clothes off of clotheslines in peoples yards to stay warm in winter. From the age 6 through 9 I grew up pretty much alone and neglected.
My mother killed my father and got 25 years, She did 9 and got out on good behavior. My brother, a Viet-Nam Vet and biker, raised me until I joined the Army at 17. He got "Life Without Parole", for murder and armed robbery and died in prison last July.
I went on to do 20 (+) years in the Army, went from a GED to 2 years of college and raised two children to adults. I've been married to the same woman for 27 years and have been around the world (9) times.
I stay hungry and feel I'm not done yet. I'm starting a business now. Having grown up so poor, I appreciate nice things. I will continue to chase the brass ring, if not for myself, my family.
