When it comes to bowel movements, what is normal varies from person to person. Some healthy people have one bowel movement a day, some have more than one, and others have just three or four a week. It all depends on your individual digestive system, what you eat, and your own lifestyle.
But if you have fewer than three bowel movements a week, or if having a bowel movement involves excessive straining and/or pain, you may be suffering from constipation and should seek advice from your healthcare professional.

you should have a bowel movement more often that once a week. maybe u need to drink more water and eat more fiber. and try moderate exercise (more walking less sitting). by going to the bathroom more frequently you will feel healthier and lighter and be in better mood. what you are passing in the bathroom is a byproduct of your food and toxins. you dont want that in your body.

Whoever told you it was OK is a definite quack.
Once a day is okay, so start eating more fiber and fruits.
raisins, apples, milk, bran, wheat, oh yeah, water, too.
There are also stool softeners on the market, but don't OD on them, or you'll be sorry!

why would a simple movement of a bowl worry you.
moving your bowl around once a week shouldn't be cause for concern. of course, it depends what's in it. if it's a fish-bowl, please take extra care, as it can disturb them to be moved around too much.
