It seems to me that your point would be valid in a "closed population system" - one that just consisted of men and women all with mates. However, in an environment where both sexes are each entering in and out of all stages of relationships at different times from single, through dating to marriage, it is entirely possible that men, or women for that matter, could demonstrate a predilection for "cheating" by entering into the pool of uncommitted individuals without requiring some poor women to handle having affairs with several men simultaneously.

Well you got to remember there is more women then men in America. I can't remember the exact percentage right now but it's true.
