yes i think you should call them and kind of remind them of the loan you gave them when they were in the need.it also depends on what you need the loan back so badly.aleast let them know you need it badly but don't sound desprate.and to get alittle advice not to mean or an indian giver you shouldn't loan so much espeacially to a remote place.

Of course you should call it's been seven months and they obviously do not plan to call you! Don't be afraid of losing friendship because if you lose friendship because you ask about the 500 then they are not worthy of your frienship you trusted them enough to use your credit card and you gave them plenty of time to contact you so it is only right to ask now it's been awhile 5 more months it will be a year so of course ask and do not be weak about it you can say it strongly without being rude about it if that is what you are afraid of just make the call start out asking the person how are they doing and that you are calling because you wanted to ask if they could send the 500.00 by weekend because you need it do not tell them why you need it because they borrowed from you! you do not need to explain anything. all you need to do is tell them that you need it and keep your reasons to yourself it's your money not theirs but be kind but yet firm do not back down because you let it go for seven months they might think you are weak and that you will let them continue to get away with it so stand firm and tell them you need the 500 and wait for a answer you will know what the deal is after you tell them you need the money you will also find out how honest they are so far not so honest to me they should have been said something or given you guys back your money so what it is a credit card yeah but you still have to pay either with your credit report or with your monthly payments so go AND GET YOUR
MONEY! They know you guys are nice people don't let them take an advantage!

You should definately call and ask for money. They probably just forgot since they don't see you very often. And if they did not forget, calling them would send the message that they can't use you like that. I would let a $20 cab ride go but not a $500 ticket.

CALL HER!
If she agreed to pay you back then you should have gotten your money by now. Just give a friendly reminder call stating that you could really use the money, so it would be helpful if she could send you a check as soon as she is able to. If for some reason she thinks she doesn't have to pay you...you will need to remind her that she agree, maybe send her the reciept in the mail...and call your brother-in-law and ask him to talk to his mom about it as well.
GOOD LUCK

I would call and ask for the money, you were nice enough to use your credit card to purchase the ticket, call and say something like, I have been getting my credit card bill, but can't seem to get it paid down, because of the plane ticket I purchased....etc.... you get what I'm the meaning

As an adult, she should know by now that she needs to keep her word. The worst thing you can do is borrow money and NOT pay it back!
Either call her or write her a letter. But definitely contact her!
She should have taken it upon herself to pay back your money AND include a Thank You card!!

maybe she forgot... its possible.. give her a ring and ask her if she remembers agreeing to pay you back.. if she doesn't.. its her way of obviously trying to get out of it. let her know you could really use the money right now and the only reason you agreed to do it was because you were under the assumption that you would be receiving the money back at some point.

Another reason why family and money do not mix. By all means call and ask for your money. Tell your aunt you have bills to pay and you did it to help out family. If they do not pay up, take them to small claims court. It should not have gotten to that but you have to look out for you and your family. You won't be popular at Thanksgiving but hey- bet nobody will borrow from you again and leave you high and dry!

Call and ask her. She needs to know you are not in the habit of just giving away money like that. She said she would pay you back and she needs to keep to her word.

Rule of thumb. Never ever loan money, give it away or don't, but if you want tension in friendship or family affairs, then go ahead and lend money.
you say they are both working, then ring or send a letter, could be they've forgotten???? So easy to forget other people's money isn't it.
