Sorry, but I do not think you have a case, but check with an attorney. Police still have to practice traffic safety laws.

Call your insurance company and make an appointment with a good doctor.. Have everything documented I hope you got this guy's plate numbers. I honestly thought you were talking about a REAL pig, for a while there. It is very p[ossible that you have sustained an injury. I was run int at a traffic light a few weeks ago. I called the police, immediately. The guy who hit me kept yelling not to do this beause he said the police would just laugh at such a small event. Well, of corse I called the police. Altho he did not get a ticket, he was found to be the reason for the accident and it was cited on the police report. Thus, when I called my insurance company and saw my doctor THAT VERY DAY, within hours of the accident, I had done all that I could. His company then called me, and he is noted as the know who caused all of this. All bills are going to him and I will also receive a nice check from his company for pain and suffering, ALONG with paying my doctor bill and the car repair bill. By the way, ANTTIME you are hit from behind, it is the other guy's fault. PERIOD. That's why he didn't want me to call the police. Good luck and FIND OUT HIS LICENSE PLATE NUMBER.

You can sue anyone for anything. The courts can sort it out later.
I'm not a lawyer, but it appears that you would be suing your girlfriend and the police department.
You will need very good documentation to explain what happened, this would include a statement by the officer, wittnesses, etc.
You do need to have your injuries quantified carefully by a duly licenced physician. Courts do not give the benefit of the doubt. Photographs are good evidence here.
You also may need to prove actual injuries, and show that they were caused by your girlfriend and the police. You may also have to show that you were not an accessory cause.
The police are indeed permitted to travel through red lights with their lights on, but they generally must wait for the right of way to be given before they pass through. When red lights are on, they are running under the "due regard for public safety" rules, which basically say that they can do whatever they need to, but any accidents are their fault.
All that said, a few aspirin and a good massage can go a long way. Otherwise, a little physical therapy could do wonders. That is assuming that nothing broke, of course.

I think you should go to a Chiropractor and get checked. Not an MD. Reason: the pain in the neck and upper back. The md will give you pills for pain but no cure. Chiropractor will seek a cure. By the way, they do work with lawyers.

Sue your girlfriend, not the police. Accidents happen. Did the officer stomp on the brakes?

I don't think you can sue the police since it was your girlfriend who hit the brakes so hard. Especially if she was speeding... You can call a personal injury lawyer - they consult for free and are money hungry.

No, the police have books of immunities that will not let you sue. In addition, I beleive it was your girlfriend who caused the injuries and not the Police. Sue her and her auto insurance.

It was your girlfriend who injured you. If she slammed on the brakes when she saw him then she must have been speeding. He was doing his job. Sorry.
Sue her if you're that money hungry.
Maybe if u had your seat belt on u wouldn't have gotten hurt.
