You can't have one without the other...paradise wouldn't seem so heavenly if we had never been to a poverty stricken city.

I say Hell is a place on earth. Look at what is happening today . Every day on the news always some shooting or other bad news. Hardly any good news. Does all this sound like Heaven? Not to me.

I will say that earth will turn into hell one day theoretically speaking. Judging from what's going on in the world today, peace and heaven will cease to exist.
Btw, may I add that the last comment was just plain ignorant.

I used to say all the time you couldn't go to hell cuz we were already there. I am not a God person but I heard from somewhere that Heaven is only about 3 feet off the ground. i do not remember where I heard that. Has anybody else heard that?

Hell is the grave. Clear and simple. After the resurrection, we are freed from hell. but when we die, we are asleep with no awareness of anything. there is no burning or pain and no spirit caught somewhere in between. After the resurrection, we will leave here on earth where there will be no wickedness or pain. A totatally awesome eternal life. Earth is our permanent home.
