Close open programs (use Activity Monitor), Clean off your desktop (Journaled HFS+ treats desktop differently, and a cluttered desktop can slow you down), disable Dashboard. Not sure if this will speed you up, but if you delete all language folders (.lproj) within your apps, other than English, your apps may open up faster and will also save you some hard drive space (1.4 GB on my system)

Just remember that a falling object attains a speed of 32 feet per second per second. So to speed up your Mac, drop it from a taller building.

well, mac is pretty, what you got is what you get, aside form memory. One of the great head aches of mac. however, if the mack you are useing is of intell, one of the new macks. you can install a nifty little program, from microsoft, for free, that will run windows xp on mac... your going to have to poke around microsoft but they have been pushing it really heavly, however, they kinda stoped, because xp runs better, even faster, on a mac... seriously I did it on my mac, and i have the best of both worlds.
