No ice water! That will make the metal of your ring shrink too. Hold your hand above the level of your heart. Sit down, try to relax. Are you swollen because of high blood pressure? Try to keep your heart rate down; take some deep breaths. Keep your hand elevated, and work the ring off with some soap, oil, mayonaise, anything slippery. Your saliva is not slippery enough, ime.
If your hand continues to swell, if your finger gets painful or starts turning colors, go to the hospital. They will help get your ring off.

I know it sounds really gross but it works, try peanut butter!
I am 8 1/2 months pregnant and ran into the same problem a week ago, although I was able to run my hand under cold water to get my rings off.
There is nothing that I know of that will make the swelling go down but the baby will be out soon and it will not be long before everything returns to normal. Good Luck! Have a wonderful and fast labor and delivery!

Try the cold water and/or ice to shrink the swelling. Also, you could try butter or oil to make it slip off, but if you are really swollen, then that wont work. Try in the morning, when you first wake up and will be the least swollen. If you aren't against medication, try taking a Benadryl because that always helps bring swelling down and it is not harmful to the baby. Good luck.

Dental floss. I saw this trick once and it does work most of the time. I will try to explain it as clearly as possible, but maybe you can Google it and find photos or something. Take a longer piece of floss and slip about an inch or two of it between the ring and your finger. Tightly wrap the longer end around your finger to the first knuckle. Once it is wrapped start unwinding the shorter end as you slowly pull the ring toward your knuckle. This has worked for me when the soap and lotions failed. I also used it when my daughter CRAMMED her friend's ring on her finger (I still have no idea how she got that ring on her finger). Hope it works!

Relax the finger or hand that the ring is on and lube up with baby oil or Vaseline. Have someone else besides you pull it off. When they grab the ring, relax and look away. For some reason, when you don't look at what they are doing, it is easier to come off. And don't put it back on. Get a chain and wear them around your neck if you want to have them on you.
If all else fails, go to a jewelry store and have them cut off. A jeweler will know where to cut and then have them repaired.

Try cold water, and liquid soap to make your hand slippery. Also have someone pull your skin tight- at the base of your finger pull back towards your knuckle- it will stretch the skin, and make your finger a bit smaller, so you might be able to slide the ring off that way.

Fill your sink with cold, cold water and soak your hands for a few minutes.... or wrap your hand up with an ice pack for a few minutes, (no more than 20 - 30 minutes), it should reduce the swelling in your hands. Not trying to be rude, so please don't take it that way, but you gain weight everywhere, sometimes when you're pregnant, you may end up needing to have them cut off... Good luck.

Ice water and vaseline. It might hurt and take a bit to get off, so the water won't wash off the vaseline. I'd suggest keeping you hand in icey water for 5 minutes, gooping the vaseline on really thick, then working it off in the water. Keeping it in the water will help mimimize swelling, good if it takes awhile to wiggle it off.

Try butter, oil, lotion, or something like that. If that doesn't work, try to cut if off or go to the hospital. The ring may be very important to you, but it's very important you get it off ASAP, ya know. So try those, and if they don't help go to the hospital now!!! Good luck, and congrats on almost giving birth!! You must be very excited about that!!!!

You could get your finger w. the ring in it all soapy (use a bar of soap, it works best cuz it has all that lard in it) and Slip it off. If that doesn't work you might have to have it surgically removed before it cuts off your ciculation. Be careful, k?
