it really depends on who you're talking to. for me if you respect me and treat me right....no matter what your race, shape, size, age...i respect you back. respect is to be earned. it's nor really knowledge that gets you respect.

False, it is all how you use the knowledge; there are a lot of very knowledgable people that cannot present their knowledge making them have no respect

Hey! thats my line!!! (its okay, i'll let u use it)
Like i said before, i think that is true.
It's not always shown. People do become jealous of people that are smarter, but i don't think that is disrespect.
And its not to say that ONLY knowledge equals respect. There have to be accompanying factors. But all things apart, if there are two identical people...the only difference is one being more knowledgable and wise than the other, ud respect the more wise one. I'm not saying you wouldn't respect the other one though.
And of course you could take the smartest person in the world, and if they're not a good person...then they might not command respect from people that know them.

Knowledge is power.
Power can create all sorts of feelings. Like also hate and disgust.
Hence: Knowledge is definately not always respect!

overall i would say true...if you know someone or about something it helps in deciding whether you want to respect them or it...like the president..we respect the position maybe not the person?!....we know the position we don't all know him personally...so we respect him for the position he holds...another example....parents...we have knowledge of them and how they respond to situations and how they have or havn't been there for us....this knowledge causes us to respect or not to respect..that is why it is so important for parents to be committed to the tasks before having kids.......ultimate respect comes from knowing about things and appreciating them for what you know about them ..good or bad

I have extensive knowledge of people, organizations, products, etc for which I have no respect.
Knowledge leads to assessment. The assessment might be that the object is not respectable.

Unfortunately, false. Peolpe generally don't respect those who know more or are wiser than them. A byproduct of their own incompetence or lack of brains.
