Should its head be going up, should he be facing downward or to the left or right. I looked online but didn't really find any answers. Can anyone help?

OK what I meant was is there a meaning in the way the dragon faces. Like upward meant higher purposes, etc.

This is the sort of thing you should discuss with your artist. They will be able to advise you on the placement of the tattoo as far as what will look best and stretch the least.

dragons are cool, get it whatever way looks the best to you...Don't get a tat that others think looks good, they don't have to wear it for the rest of their life Good Luck!

Depending on what body part you place it on, I would have it face inward towards you so every time you look at it, it will appear to be looking at you...
