I think Italy should have won 3-0. They had some great shots missed early.
Get over it! Australia qualified to the World Cup due to a penalty kick. Should we question that too?

Yeah, Totti just tripped over the Australian guy's back and got a penalty. I suppose that Italy still could have won in extra time or in a shootout, but that was not fair for Australia. Stupid Italian theatrics.

The penalty was unfair but Aussies never looked like winning the game

It was a penalty kick with a little bit of acting but you can't say that he didn't even touch him...he stuck his hands out and Grosso made him pay..if you were in the situation would you go around him or take the foul...and it was the aussi guys fault..never slide in the box after the guy breaks your ankles...anyway like moglie said the aussies made it through the qualifying through a penalty kick...and the offside goal against Croatia anddddddddd the red card against Materazzi......so one bad call against them makes everybody whine.....give me a break.

Even though it did look like the Aussie was trying to get up, in real time speed it may have looked like he intentionaly put his body in the way to trip him. I honestly think he did NOT try to foul him.

But after that kind of game to call a penalty that late in the game was uncalled for. He should have let them play the over time to determine the winner in a better fashion.

Yup.

The Azzuries is the luckiest team in the tournament. I can't believe they got a penalty. The Italian obviously dived.

I think it was REALLY unfair, and that the referee missed another penalty, in favor of Australia, when the italian (i cant remember his name) touched the ball with the hand.

Yes definitely. There was no foul. The Australian player was already on the ground and the Italian player tried to go over him.
