you have a sense of humor. Iike the question....

You can suffocate the fish when you leave it without water.

Technically a fish can't "drown" because the definition is "suffocation by water"; however, the opposite way for doing that with a fish is by keeping him in the naked air.

Hypnotise it and then tell it that it's really an elephant ... works every time but if it (was) swimming around in a small container of water (eg a fish tank, your bath) be aware that the water will overflow and cause a dreadful mess (maybe a smaller animal than an elephant would be better?)

you can't but if you really want it dead, put acid in the water or som ekind of poison that makes it die fast , don't be sick enough to drown it because it may haunt you, you never know.
IF you really want to DROWN it, then the only way is to not change water for weeks. There will be NO oxygen and hence it can't breathe and it's a gonna

I do not suggest you even try these: 1. If you pull a fish backwards, no water enters its gills and therefore it 'drowns' from lack of oxygen. 2. Pour condensed milk into its water and it will choke from lack of oxygen.

You can't drown a fish, but you can make it breathe.

By not changing the water? Soon the water gets dirty, fills with algae & bacteria and there is not air left. You will observe the fish 'coming up' to breath at the surface. Mildly amusing....until they die that is. Then you flush them down the loo!
