Some of the topics Mr. West covers in his songs can be perceived as comic relief. Other topics deal with international and domestic concerns. But is it just me? or does Kanye West appear to be music's court jester? Who just happens to be a genius, while talking about humanity concerns and delivering his message in a comic fashion? Laugable or Relate-able? What is your take?

I call him relateable becuz as a rapper many ppl beleive that all you are supposed to do is rap about gang violenc and other nonsense stuff all the time.

His attempts to rap what he thinks about the world and international affairs shows that he at leats acknowledges and tries to address the fact that this stuff is going on in his own little way. Lots of artists do the same thing in other music genres.
It just rarely happens in rap however. And although it may be in comic fashion at least he tries with the gift that he has.

I think you're right about your take on Kanye. I think he's genius because of the humanity concerns because not alot of hip hop artists can draw attention to such serious issues and still come across as "cool". But then he turns around and does songs like Workout Plan and you sit and wonder what he's been smoking. Some of his videos are good too but then there are ones like Touch the Sky that are laughable. I think his ego is laughable too. He really thinks highly of himself. At least he keeps things interesting I guess.

Relate-able ... he's forreal in all he sings, even if it's not cristal clear to everyone, like RBG you have to pay attention to the words and the meaning of the song and why he's singing what he's singing... to get the full meaning. Making real Sh*t funny is just another way of being irronic, what's sad is the funny stuff is true too.

I think he's both because some of the things he talks about really are kinda funny, but then again, we can really relate to them in real life, so i guess i consider him to be both.
