Separate video, abbreviated S-Video and also known as Y/C (or erroneously, S-VHS and "super video") is an analog video signal that carries the video data as two separate signals (brightness and colour), unlike composite video which carries the entire set of signals in one package. S-Video works in 480i or 576i resolution.

The greyscale and color signals are sent on different wires eliminating the need for a low pass filter which negatively affects the signal. Obviously, to hook it to the TV, the TV needs an s-video input. There are convertors, but these are costly and basically negate all the benefits S-Video brings. If you don't have an S-Video TV, use a monitor instead.

S-video CABLE - it's just a specific type of cable. You will need a pc with an S-Video port, most lap-tops have them, and the TV must also have the port - it should be clearly labeled on the TV. Go to any TV store or RadioShack and ask them, they'll show you.

S-video is a way to digitally transfer a video signal. All you need is a graphics card with s-video output and a tv with s-video input. Unless you have a high resolution TV, expect to be disappointed by the quality.

S-video is actually called SVCD. SVCD stands for "Super VideoCD". A SVCD is very similiar to a VCD, it has the capacity to hold about 35-60 minutes on 74/80 min CDs of very good quality full-motion video along with up to 2 stereo audio tracks and also 4 selectable subtitles. A SVCD can be played on many standalone DVD Players and of course on all computers with a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive with the help of a software based decoder / player. It is also possible to use menus and chapters, similiar to DVDs, on a SVCD and also simple photo album/slide shows with background audio. The quality of a SVCD is much better than a VCD, especially much more sharpen picture than a VCD because of the higher resolution. But the quality depends how many minutes you choose to store on a CD, less minutes/CD generally means higher quality.

First it's the best TV video connection out there, big difference from coaxial!
Then you just need a graphics card with a s video output on it. I found mine rather cheap at www.tigerdirect.com
Pretty easy to install. Just make sure you get the one that's right for your slot, may have to take yours out and compare the connection if you don't know what ity's called, I didn't know!

well u would need to have a tv card, or a graphical card which has a s-video out, this connection looks almost the same as where u plug your keyboard into
the svideo would be right next to your monitor connection on the pc.
