The most important thing with makeup is basic skin care. If you don't take good care of your skin, your makeup won't look as great as it could. A good brand to use for both the skin care and makeup is Mary Kay. I've used it for over 10 years and I won't use anything else. Here's is an easy way to use all the products to help you look your very best:
Skin Care -
Cleanser
Exfoliant
Freshener/Toner
Moisturizer
Makeup -
Concealer (if necessary)
Foundation
Loose Powder (if necessary)
Eye Shadow
Eyeliner
Mascara
Cheek Color
Lip Liner
Lipstick
Lip Gloss
If you need help choosing colors to suit you try the Virtual Makeover here: http://www.marykay.com/melsca/default.aspx Once you've done that, you can go to the Application Tips section on the same site for step by step instructions on applying your makeup. I hope this helps out girl!

Choose three colors of eye shadow: light, medium and dark. Use the dark only to line your upper eyelid, in a fairly thin line along the upper lashes. Use the medium shade for the crease and the lightest shade for the area under the eyebrow.
Apply eyeliner. Use a cake eyeliner with a damp, thin liner brush, or an eyeliner pencil, and line the lower lid below the lashes. Line only the outer two-thirds of the lower lid, or all the way across if you're trying to achieve a darker look. Line all the way across the upper lid (just above the lash line and as close to the lashes as possible), or start the line where your lashes begin.
Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes, in two thin coats to avoid clumpiness. Choose brown mascara if your coloring is fair; black or brown-black works well for darker coloring.

Stop putting on the make-up. The only make-up you should wear is eye make-up and with brown eyes, I would wear a black or brown mascara and a light color of eye shadow.

what color is your skin? It depends on what color your skin is if you want to know what color looks best on you. I'm a beige-ish colors, so i like to use a navy blues/light pink/creme colors/light green for my eyeshadow. I also apply black eyeliner on the top of my eyelids (not on the inside...but use it on the inside if you want a more defined look) so my eyes look bigger. A dark brown with shimmer (from clinique) is my favorite eyeliner, which I use to subsitute eyeshadow because I use it on the insides of my bottom/top eyelids and also on the outside bottom/top. To me, the secret is mascara. Make sure and clean off your brush every time so you get an even coat that doesn't clump. Try not to use bright eyeshadows or a thick line of eyeliner. Good luck!

Gio for natural colours as close to natural colouring as possible. The key is to enhance not to look like you've got a face full of paint on! If in doubt, maybe get a trial makeover/ advice at your local department store or experiment with friends to see what's good for you. You'll probably get an honest answer too!
