alright just so you all know. I have things on my credit report that don't belong on there. Also most of my bills are medical.

Also the place I am trying to get out of... well having $500+ a month in electricity is nuts. That don't help matters at all. Plus I had a physco roommate who ran up a $900+ phone billl. Everything kinda goes down hill from there...

No and I've gone through this before. We went from apartment to apartment and because of our credit they would not rent to us. It's insane!!! People with bad credit need a roof over their head too. The rich just want all the non-rich to be homeless I think. It sucks. We did get into a low income housing complex but because of our credit, out deposit alone was $800.00. It's a nice place actually and I love living where I am but still. It was hard getting in too.

Denied housing? You mean you tried to buy a house and the owner was a little shaky about your credit score? I think it is within their rights.

Are you talking about a loan from a bank? Is that what you were denied? There are lots of banks around, just beware of high interest rates and predatory lending.

If you are paying your rent on time and your credit is not good, then something else is not getting paid on time. Credit counselors can help with this.

Is this a public housing question?

To answer your question, I am not sure it is fair. It depends largely on the rest of the details.

No it's not fair, but obviously you haven't been on time with payments in the past. I think it's fair for a landlord etc. to deny someone they think is potential risk as a non paying tenant. It's their right and therefore their prerogative if they want to allow someone housing or not.

Why would you have get bad credit in the first place? because of spending money you don't have. So if you have bad credit with a roof over your head then maybe you will take it for granted.

whats unfair is that decent people when they are down and need help can never get a break. BUT if you smoke crack sell drugs, rape, rob and have all the evil you can do you get help from the government. this whole system is screwed up. i know someone that embezzled 100,000 dollars and guess what? the government paid for her to learn her job over again and take classes. that's messed up.

I think its fair. If you have bad credit, You are more unlike to not pay your bills on time. And if you dont pay your money on time, you could put the business in debt

well its unfair. but come to think of it, if u had a house that were ur means of survival , wud u give it to someone whom ur not to sure of paying ur rent on time?... even if he does pay ur rent on time, ud prefer a person with better credit as ur assured of a rent.
