Very tragic story. I would advise accepting the accident apart from all the blame and lawsuit type things. This will be hard to do but will be the first step toward your healing. This wound will never disappear though.

Mexico has very different safety and legal standards than the US, even at 5-star resorts. Many countries are very unsafe compared to the US and they do not have the same accountability that businesses do in the USA. This should always be understood as many preventable deaths take place every year across the world.

I am so sorry for your loss.
I bet those words have been said to you so many times.
I went to your website. He was a gorgeous little man. My son is about to turn 10. I cannot imagine life without him, and I'm afraid that I would end up in a mental hospital if something did. I am saying this with gentle, meaningful, tenderness...... God does love you. He loves Brent and he will ease your pain. Brent's legacy will never leave your mind but over time you will embrace the Lord and Brent again. The death of a child seems so meaningless. I will never understand it. I have lost two babies to miscarriage and morn them, and I never knew them. I never got to see them grow, or learn to talk but the pain is real. I will pray for you because I don't know what else to do. The Mexican government failed you, the hotel that you trusted to be safe failed you, possibly even your attorney failed you. But God will not fail you. He is holding you up, loving you and expecting you to trust Him and his plan. I am in the middle of storm in my life right now and I know God is the only thing keeping me together. It is hard to hear him through the rain but He is there.
God bless you and your family, I will pray for you. I promise. In Christ's Love, Heather
You can write me anytime if you wish.

There are no magic pills or potions to facilitate recovery. Depression medications can help, only from your doctor.

It's an old, old axiom. Time is the great healer. Time is different for everyone.

I can only express my empathy. I lost a son, his mother, and a second wife at a young age. Have faith, at least in yourself.

Mexico does not put the value on life as we do in US. If an American kills a Mexican National, one must pay a fixed dollar amount to support the family. If you only disable them, the penalty is worse. The government does not want the responsibility of care and support. The way it was explained to me by a Mexican National.

Good luck and God speed.
