Microsoft is starting a new elite certification program based on dissertations and interviews rather than exams. The new certification, Microsoft Certified Architect, has a fee of $200 just to apply. If you are turned down (only 250 will be accepted) they get to keep your $200 because Bill Gates needs more money. And as a way of saying Thank You to the Microsoft developers who have helped to make his company successful participation in the program will be offered at the low, low price of $10,000. Some day Bill will be rich enough to offer these programs to his developer community at a reasonable price, but you and I will never see that day.

Bill, you are a b****** after all!

Dear Emerson: I didn't know that Macintosh (AKA Apple) computers were bug-proof. Maybe that's why they cost twice as much as PCs. Nah, I'll bet it's because the hippies that started Apple are now greedy, capitalist, elistists just like Bill Gates.

That's funny.
Of course, the suckers will be lined up. They may think that it's the ticket to riches, but nobody will care. The "disserations and interviews" are likely more about identifying glib and photogenic MS evangelists rather than any technical thing.

But is it really ethical to give a sucker an even break? Naaaaah.

Those who are willing to pay that kind of money expect to get it back in consulting fees, and then some. Microsoft knows this.
