"RPG" is an acronym for a specific type of gaming called Role-Playing Game. This specifc genre of games revolve around you, the player, taking on the role of a main character within the game and playing out the characters story, performing specific tasks, building up your skill level (fishing, fighting, magic, etc)

The world of playing RPG's is vast! There are loads of games out there too. Some can be played online, others just on your home-computer by yourself, and even some on your video game console.

Online RPGs are reffered to as MMORPG. This stands for Massively Multi-player Online Role-playing Game. Some of the more popular series are World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy, and Lineage.

World of Warcraft (WoW) has been around for years and serves as one of the largest RPG communities and games out there. You (the player), are allowed to create a character from several different fantasy species and define its job (ie-warrior, mage, theif, etc). This online game is popular and has millions of other players. Allowing you to create your own alter-ego/character is also a plus. It costs $15.00 for an online fee every month. And the game itself is about $40 or $50.

Final Fantasy is another popular series and has been around forever. It used to not be online, but in () it came to online community. Lile WoW, you're allowed to create your own character and still have to pay an online fee to play.

Lineage is another PC game. This one, however is FREE! You just have to have the proper equipment on your computer to run it.

Examples of songs that are not played online are Fable for XBOX, Final Fantasy X for PS2, and Tales of Symphonia for the Nintendo Gamecube.

I really hope this answers your question! i'm sorry it was so long, but i'm an avid gamer, President of a video game organization, and i really REALLY love RPG's!!!!

RPG, just like everyone above has already stated, stands for Role-Playing Games. The basic components of RPGs I play are a complex, well-developed storyline, a system of money to spend on weapons, equipment and items, a way of leveling up your character's statistics (strength, agility, ect.), and a battle system of some sort. Another fact about most RPGs is that 9 times out of 10 (not all fit this category) you will be required to travel with a party of characters to complete the tasks in the game. Teamwork and gathering information are the main focus of RPGs and a must when defeating them.
Some great RPGs I've played include Kingdom Hearts I & II, Xenogears, and the Final Fantasy series. Recently, MMORPGs (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games) have become popular as well, which consists of you playing with people, in a particular RPG, across the world. Final Fantasy 11, Phantasy Star Online, and Runescape are great examples of MMORPGs.

RPG stands for "role playing game." Its basically any game with a story that you follow as the main character. They range from less than 10 hours of gameplay and too short of a story, to as much as 80 hours to finish the game and a story that was woven with majesty fit for kings. Good rpgs are final fantasy and the legend of zelda, so if you like long, involving games, get some of the new ones in these series. Its okay if you need the strategy guide though, most rpgs will stump you at least once. I almost think that playing the game through a second time with the strategy guide makes the game better because you get to explore everything.

RPG = Role Playing Games. Currently the most celebrated of these is World of Warcraft. These games are all loosley based on the concept started by Dungeons and Dragons. You select a "class" or a player type mostly Paladin, Warrior, Priest, Cavalier, something of that nature. Depending on the class you select you achieve different abilties. As you gain expierence points your health and mana (Magical energy) grow. Obviously the more health points you have the greater the enemies you can go up against.
