In the USA we do not see much of the outside world, we have a large country and several of our states are the size of European nations. We can travel thousands and thousands of miles, through widely varying terrain and climates and we seldom have cause to interact with anyone from outside our borders (that isn't living here).
Couple the above with the fact that we place very little value on education and you get a bunch of ignorance.
We are taught from elementary through high school that our forefathers created the first free republic and that democracy is so fair and wonderful and our European (or World) history seems to focus more on the pre-WWII era than anything.
I think most of us don't have a clue about just how much democracy is in action around the world.
Put all this together and you've got a bunch of barely educated people who've been taught that they're the best and are not equipped to go out into the world and explain/defend their position. They really do believe that the US is the best nation but don't know enough about anywhere else to justify that belief. Therefore...the chanting...USA USA.
Don't get me wrong, I love my country. But the unjustifiable boasting does embarass me, we aren't all jackasses.

I don't think the US is flawless on the world stage, in fact I have a great deal of reservations about American foreign policy, however, I think if people enjoy their form of government and think it is good, they should express that. As far as protecting the world, the US puts more money into its military than any 3 nations on Earth. The reason for that is to help keep security in the World. The United States is (and this is not boastful, just a fact) the richest, most powerful nation on Earth. I think the U.S. takes up the responsibility that comes with that, in humanitarian efforts, and trying to preserve global security. Is the U.S. government perfect in its actions? By no means. Should America have invaded Iraq? Probably not. Could the U.S. stop giving aid, and stop trying to prevent widespread oppression and destruction, and adopt an isolationist policy? Yes, and people would probably b*tch about that too. Sometimes you just can't win.

consider all the problems with the u.s.a.
now consider all the problems with every other country in the world, individually.
yes we have faults.
yes they have faults.
we have less faults.
they have more faults.
disagree?
then find a country that the u.s.a. has not sent money or aid to in order to keep that country from going under.I'll give you a few years to come up with an answer.the u.s.a has helped every nation on the planet, and i don't recall any nation ever helping us.when there is a national disaster anywhere in the world the u.s. sends aid.name the nations that sent aid to new Orleans after the hurricane.
Islam proclaims to be the most peace loving religion in the world, and they sit on all the oil in the middle east, and provide millions of dollars to support terrorism, but in the tsunami years ago,it was the u.s.a who provided the majority of the aid.
boasting?who's boasting?
the facts speak for themselves.while the u.s.a is not perfect,it's by far better than the rest of the world.

Let's see.
Middle east, let's hear it for the Arabs who just can't wait to kill all Jews; Africa: let's hear it for Darfur, Sudan, and all the other places people are trying to kill each other. Asia - Let's hear it for the Khmer Rouge, Pol Pot and more. Europe - lets not forget 2 world wars spawned by Germany and from which we saved your collective keisters. Japan? The same for WW2, and cruel at that. Russia - Let's not forget all the people shipped to Siberia, Lenin and Stalin, and also not to forget the expansion into your former states of the Czech republic and more..
Oh, and France - you ALLOWED Jews be killed by the Germans...you always seem to look the other way, especially if it's convenient for you...
Switzerland - you don't really care WHO is in power, or what they do to get wealth, you just want to be their bankers.....
Canada - in your state sponsored health care, how long must one wait for an operation? There's also a reason why 90% of your population lives within 100 miles of the U.S. border...
Mexico - Why do you still insist on immigrating illegally if it's so bad?
And this is better?
No one is perfect, but we've not done too bad a job of sending aid to the rest of the world. More than any other country. Period.
By what criteria do you wish to refute us?
Most people in the U.S. don't brag about their country until some arrogant PC person feels the urge to "put us in our place".
We know our place. It's keeping people like you free enough to be able to complain without fear of retribution by a state supported government.
Yes. Whether you like it, or even agree or not - the U.S.A IS great!

1. It keeps morale up. What kind of nation would we be if we said the we were second best? The American people need the positive information flow. 2. We are the most active nation in the world. Any time the U.N. has any major problems they come running to us. We offer more aide, in the form of money food and supplies than any other nation in the world. I think that gives us a right to boast a little bit. Our Military has saved more innocent lives than any other nation as well. During WWII alone we freed many nations in Europe and Asia. Now we are trying to save innocent lives in the Middle East. People dont recognize how many lives we have actually saved from evil people like Saddam Hussien and his sons. Our acctions in Iraq are captivating much of the Terrorists attention. So yes, I think we are saving lives and we deserve the right to boast a little.

Americans are proud people, and when ever someone talks trash about thier country, they take it as a personal attack. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your country, but to think it is the "best" is totally absurd. The US. has flaws, just like any other country, just look at the Health Care System, Education System, Immigration, heck the list can go on. I don't want to get started on the "Freedom" thing, because we have lost so many rights over the years it's not even funny, and we can thank all the Politically Correct A**HOLES for that.

Boasting? Interesting debate here- but to be honest- and I think I can speak for millions of my fellow Americans- to the *********** who hate us -**** off. I can drive for days and still be in my country and see as much beauty as a person can stand- so why the **** would I want to go to anywhere else? Most countries have water so bad you cannot even drink it. Universal Healthcare? Don't give a ****. I work and can afford the ******* 30 bucks a week for my medical and still live like a King(compared to 70% of the world- I can kick 98% of the people's asses here or abroad and to the other 2% I can kill easily enough. If any fag abroad thinks they can defeat America then -a nod goes out to the rednecks of the south- come get some. Otherwise shut the **** up and enjoy your ******* Soccer. Enjoy your 100 mile radius. Enjoy knowing your country is my country's *****. Enjoy knowing we can kill kill you in a blink of an eye and you only exist because we let you.

Young people who do not know what the world was like before the PC and cell phones, are rather ignorant of many things. They are spoiled and are in the GIMME generation.
Yes, the U.S. IS the greatest nation in the world. How many other countries have an immigration problem where just about everyone wants to enter, legally or illegally?
Do you see immigrants crossing the border into India? Pakistan? Nigeria? Indonesia? Poland? Russia? etc, etc, etc.
Obviously, there must be something about the U.S.that everyone wants to be a part of.
How many countries would allow demonstrators to burn the national flag and do nothing about it?
How many nations have a free press? How many allow criticism of the government?
How many countries offer their citizens the same freedoms, govt handouts and benefits as the U.S.
Perhaps you ARE jealous and wish you had what WE have.
I was born in the U.S. and know our history very well. I served my country and the flag of our nation. It SICKENED me to hear the Supreme Court decided it was a form of free speech to allow people to burn our flag.
That is one of our (ppfffffttttt) freedoms.
If you can't see the greatness of this nation, than shut up.

what an excellent question. i am almost 60 years of age. i will suggest to you that u.s. boasting is by far new. the u.s. has prefect ed boasting, and as long as i can remember used it brilliantly to their advantage.
the world is much smaller now, with technology the us gets larger
world disasters, wars, the world-wide need for people to be free or at least free (er).
wall mart will take over the world. you ask if the u.s is better then other countries, it really appears that it is. to only mention one reason why it is, would be a shame. like it or not. we live in a world with the u.s. and Hollywood.

Pure, unadulterated ignorance on a whole. I mean look at all the morons that not only voted for Bush once , but re-elected him.
I blame all you Bush supporting morons for all the dead soldiers from both our country and the country they are fighting in. And for what? What has it accomplished but to draw comparisons of the stupidity and absurdity of the Vietnam "conflict", coincidently led by another ignorant, war-mongering Texan.
You morons (that voted for him) are all responsible for the loss of pride that people feel in this country but you keep thinking that you made the right choice in re-electing that sub-moronic buffoon as the representative of this country. What the hell would anyone in their right mind have to boast about right now without lying to themselves or selling their soul? We (the U.S) are not even in on the agreement to stop global warming etc... Al Gore should have been president. It is no coincidence that the ballot machines errored where his bro is Governor, IMO. And you morons will problalby turn around and vote his Brother Jeb in..seeing as his dad andbro did such a good thing for this country already. Yea...land of the free and home of the brave. Too bad too many dont know how to make an informed , intelligent choice and screw it up for the rest of us that are NOT sitting high on the hog!
