We have a small office (just 3) I do not expect the boss who signs my check to clean the bathroom, but the other emplyee just will not help out with the bathroom work... I've even mentioned"Chip, your next to clean the bathroom" but still a week goes by & I end up cleaning it again.. I'm so fed up with his laziness. I thought a check sheet or sign log might help... any suggestions..
sincerely, fed up w/ lazy coworker

You need to discuss this with your boss.If your co-worker is going to share the duties that needs to come from your boss. Otherwise, you will just create animosity with your co-worker. On his own, he will not do this. Either talk to the boss or resign yourself to cleaning the bathroom all the time.

So stop cleaning the bathroom. When its gets so bad your co-workers would rather use the public restroom at the corner gas station something will give. In the meantime buy yourself some of the paper seat gaskets to protect your personal hygiene.

I doubt your boss would assign any one person or a rotation for cleaning, he'll wiggle off that hook by declaring everyone is adults and you guys should be able to work it out. (From the art of management through non-management.) I would suggest that you bring up having a service come in once a week to clean the bathroom, dust the common areas, vacuum, etc. If you ever have clients come into the office cobwebs and dust bunnies are not signs of a well run business. A commerical cleaning service or maid service if its a small office shouldn't run more than a few hundred a month, a small investment if clients visit.

the problem here is not going to be fixed by a check sheet. he already knows he is "supposed" to clean it but he doesn;t be cause he is not held to a standard. you have be able to hold some thing over him (figuratively) so you can say "clean it or else!!". If you are not his supperior, and he's not nice enough to do his fair share you should bring it up to your boss. or kick his ***. Either way if he's pushing you around or blowing you off a check sheet will not fix the problem.

Why don't you just make one up on Word or Excel. You don't need a special one, just a piece of paper that says "name" and "date" at the top.

Maybe try Office Depot, I know they sell all sorts of business related sheets. That is where we buy all of our business papers from.
