If you like fantasy, Terry Brooks is excellent. Chronicles of Thomas Covenant is a good read by Stephen Donaldson. If you don't care for romance, but like a good story and a lot of history thrown in, try Diana Gabaldon. She has a 6 book (so far) series about time travel and the Scottish Highlands and Culloden and, well, lets just say it's a very good series. First book is Outlander.

I really enjoy Mindy Starns Clark (Million Dollar Mysteries and the Smart Chick Mysteries). I also like Laura Childs (Tea Shop Mysteries). I don't like a lot of bad language or sexual content. The first author I mentioned is a Christian author. The first time I read mysteries by Christian authors I wasn't sure what to expect but they have great plots without the garbage thrown in. I'm also reading Eleanor Sullivan (Monika Everheardt series). I like a little Agatha Christie especially her books with Hercule Poirot. I watch those movies and enjoy them a lot! "Murder on the Orient Express" is a good read.

I SO used to be into fantasy - some of the classics:
The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley (actually anything by her)
The Once and Future King by T.H. White (still makes me feel warm and fuzzy just thinkin' about it)
Mary Stewart has a Merlin series, The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills, The Last Enchantment, The Wicked Day
Let's not forget Tolken! In addition to The Lord of the Rings books, he also wrote Simlarillion.
Hope that helps!

When you finish all the Eddings, other fantasy series to try are:
"The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant" or "The Mirror of Her Dreams" by Sephen R. Donaldson,
The Westria Series starting with "The Mistress of the Jewels" or the Wodan's Children series by Diana Paxson
"The Wheel of Time" by Robert Jordan
The Earthsea novels of Ursula LeGuin
Dragonrider books by Anne McCaffrey
For mysteries, I like
Dorothy Sayers
P.D.James
Gillian Roberts
Sue Grafton
I hope you can enjoy some of these as much as I do.

I really like Steven Erikson and Jacqueline Carey. The Erikson series is entitled "A Tale of the Malazan Book of the Fallen" and the 1st book in the series is called Gardens of the Moon. There are 6 books so far. It is not an easy read, but I like complicated. The Carey series is an easier read. It starts with Kushiels Dart. There are 4 books in the series so far, the 4th was released this past month. I also like Ursula Leguin and Robin Hobb, The Farseer series.

You seem to like fantasy saga-ish tales. Certainly read Lord of the Rings. It's a fantasy classic, but some may find it boring.
Try reading Garth Nix's Abhorsen Trilogy. They're Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen.
One fantasy book I found at the library is this: "The Cup of the World" by John Dickinson. It's fantasy with a bit of mystery, so I think you might like it.

My favorite fantasy authors are Mercedes Lackey, Spider Robinson, and Terry Pratchett. My new favorite Mystery author is Kathy Reichs, who inspired the TV show 'Bones.' Her books are good, but nothing like the show.
If you haven't read Pratchett, you should definitely check him out right away. He's awesome.

Terry Pratchett - once reviewed as "Tolkien on acid" The guy rocks. Start with The Colour of Magic.
Tom Holt is another good fantasy writer. Both as funny as each other.
