Some more tidbits, Brooklyn is actually Dutch for Breukelen, another place in Holland, There is Flushing which is actually Vlissingen in the province of Zeeland in Holland. Harlem is actually Haarlem, the town where I was born in Holland and which is more then 1300 years old.

Without all the religion and whos god told who what to do yet, i'd imagine men figured how to make their floating log platforms into boats into ships. and being men, they had to have a contest of who could sail the farthest. Then some did sail so far they found land. That explains some of them unlike the others that are known to be looking for the end of the ocean or new people. Others yet are looking to take the boating journey of thier ancestors and come to new york to explore. No!
