A kind word will do the trick, whatever medium you wanna use is up to you. Soft answers turn away wrath but harsh words stir up anger.

That kid is mean because he has self-esteem issues. Just help him feel better about himself.

If you considered it 'fair' not to clap when he was presented, why should you change your mind after the event. However, if you thought it was 'unfair' at the time and remained quiet to be one of the gang, you owe him an apology and should either say it to him openly or write him a note.................

Send him a congratulations card with a nice note.

If you don't think you want to be friends in the future, then that is enough.

Well... You can bond with him if you really want to, I mean that would be nice! But it isn't that you have to, just next time make sure you don't insult people that way.

Is there anything that you can do?? You can maybe try to reach him and be his friend. If he doesnt want your friendship then there is nothing else you can do.
