Buy a wave maker or larger pump to increase the water circulation in your tank, extremely large turbo snails are good and so are horseshoe crabs if you have enough open substrate. Use a turkey baster to 'blow' off all the slime and remove the larger pieces with a net. It grows faster if you let it get a foothold. Make sure that you use only reverse-osmosis cleaned water for your water changes. The phosphates in all other water encourage the growth of it.
