check out your neighbourhood, there would be someone who teaches how to make candles. besides candle making isn't all that difficult. here's how you do it :
you buy some wax , you buy some moulds, some wick, and then melt the wax and pour them into the oiled moulds along with the wick in the centre . after a couple of hours , you take out the candles from the moulds. ta....da .....you got your candles all ready .
you can decorate them with beads or glitter or whatever else that catches your fancy.

it's so easy, get some old stubs and then heat and blend them to make new candles..
you want an art book from the library mate.

AC Moores and Michaels have some great litte kits for under $20. It is great for those starting out. They also have extra wax, molds, and scents when you feel more comfortable doing it yourself.
Good luck!

Try getting a kit from a craft shop - it'll have lots of ideas in it plus the materials to get started. I bought one for my mum and she loved it.

There is google.com, dogpile.com, and tons more that you can search that under, but also if you read your local newspaper, you can find old fashioned events that do candle making there!
ENJOY!!!
