I pay my bills - when I lived with my old boyfriend we split the bills, but I paid for my own vehicle... when I was with my now ex husband - I paid the majority of the bills - I like the splitting of the bills much better...I don't mind paying my own way.

Why is this such a issue with people. If your married, you put everything in one checkbook and pay it from there. Each takes a certain amount of cash each week for meals, gas etc. It's a no brainer. As far as who writes out the checks every month, in our house I do.
If you live with your boyfriend: Each bill should be divided in half and you each pay half. (if that works for you) Talk to each other and decide what works best.

My husband works and pays the bills so I can stay home and raise our 3 boys.

I pay all the bills. I have the time and am good at it and balancing everything. If you are talking about paychecks, my husband is the breadwinner for our family.

My husband and I split household duties.....I buy groceries and take care of school stuff...and he pays things like house payment and utilities..It works for us.
