I've had a bad cough lately and now, I feel like I have 'pulled' the back of my tongue. It hurts to swallow and even talk, and it's not my throat. Can a sprain/pull on the tongue even be possible?

Thanks

your tongue is a muscle and it can be pulled.
it hurts very much.
i went to my doctor and he gave me something to ease the pain but...just like any sprain, you have to ait it out. if you're taking any painkillers, please take them wisely. i had to be warned when the pain seemed to grow quickly by each passing day. i hope your cough gets better though.

believe me I've strained my tongue many times talking too much and I mean way too much.so I was quiet for 24 hours and stayed off my tongue. and gave it lots of heat and ice and elevated it. and Before I knew it I was flapping my gums sure enough. you think I would have learned my listened the first time hell no I just kept rambling on one time my mind went faster then my mouth and I gave my tongue a hernia since then my speech hasn't been the same which is why I type more then I talk.

Admit it, your tongue and jaw is sore from giving head to those 14 guys last nite at the party. You're just mad you only got $50 for it.
