I know the PS3 will be more powerful with more advanced technology, but I'm very attracted to the XBOX live component of the 360. I've never actually played on XBOX live, but it seems really cool. I own a PS2 and still play it, but the online part of it isn't so great. I don't know if the PS3 online play will be any good. Are the technical benefits of the PS3 worth more than the online play of the 360?

Listen to me! Get the Xbox 360 now! Why? Because it is out now, it has great games (Call Of Duty 2, Elder Scrolls Oblivion etc) Much more cheaper 399.99. The online is alot of fun, just talking with friends or blasting them on a multilayer game is a great ! Besides if you wait for the PS3 imagine all the problems it will have........I wish Sony luck with its Blu-Ray commitment.

Yeah PS2's online capabilities suck so bad. Sony has said repeatedly that the PS3 will have a online service that will surpass Xbox live, but that could be a load of ****, but i really hope it isnt. You can read all about this at Gamespot.com. I want to get both, but being a poor college student makes it hard. I am planning to get a 360 and then put a preorder on a PS3 and then pick it up when i have the full $600, ouch. They will share many games, but each will have there unique games that the other doesn't have, so I want to eventaully get both.
Oh and I want to get a Wii too, but luckily its not up in the 400-600 dollar range. but Wii will come last after 360 and PS3

if you want good online play, get an xbox 360. even if sony has a new online service, it took xbox 5+ years to get theirs where it is today. if you want hitech, what for the ps3. just remember bluray is new and will be expensive. games will be more that the 360 and there is not that much differance. its just sony forcing us to use their stuff, just like with the psp. have to have their memory cards and stuff. i mean come on, umd stands for universal media disc. why can i only play it on a psp? because i am a junkie for games i will own both but id say go to the xbox for now.

wait for the ps3. yes it will be more expensive, but it will last longer. it can play hd-dvd's,dvd's, cd's ps3,ps2,and ps1 games. so far, if i want the xbox360, it's only because of elder scroll 4 oblivion, and halo 3. those 2 are xbox360's only hope. gta4 will be out for it and ps3, but it wont be as popular as gta4 on ps3. the ps3 will have a lot of games that would kick ***, gta4, assassin's creed, unreal tournament 2007, metal gear solid 4, exc. so get ps3

The online play will be better....they are good at improving....if you already have PS2 and like it than you will like PS3....however if you have the money....just get both

I say PS3, out of those 2, but I wouldn't get that even...after NES, I have NO non-Nintendo Systems...I am very loyal to Nintendo...so I would say Revolution...even though it is waaaaaaay off in the future...even though I have a 2600 and a 5200 atari...they came out before Nintendo NES?
