Nothing "makes" a good friend. It isn't like going to the grocery store and picking out a piece of fruit. Good friends come to you when you least expect it and you become inseperable simply because you enjoy each other's company and can tell each other anything. It doesn't happen overnight either. A good friendship happens over months or even years. Then you can truly know they are a good friend.

Honesty, trust, unconditional love. If you have unwavering honesty, sharing truthfully and unflinching honesty for your friend, even when it hurts, that is true friendship that survives throught thick and thin.
Also, if your friend can always trust that you have their "best" interests at heart and can trust you with their life and you can trust them as well, that is true friendship that survives through thick and thin.
And finally, if you love them, no matter what they do or have done, you are there with unconditional love and they the same for you you have what it takes for true friendship.

A true friendship is one that you are supported completly and vice versa. You are there for each other through good and bad. You can argue about a subject but never let it come between you. Someone you can trust completely with everything.

i have had my true best friend since 4th grade. we don't talk too often, but if i needed her she would be there in a second. i would do the same for her. i think that friendship like that comes from growing together. we went thru alot of stuff in school and after graduation. that person is the one who knows all your secrets, all the trouble you guys got into, all the crappy boys and men that let you down. oh crap, now i need to go call her!

The main thing is TRUST. Don't make up stories or lie, don't talk behind thier back and don't go out with someone they went out with or have as a crush. A good friend is one you can tell your deepest secrets to and not have it spread all over Gods creation.

Loyalty, honesty, and understanding are essential qualities that a friend must possess. I think that a person who is jealous of your achievements, is not your friend and you should get rid of them as fast as you can. A true friend is sad when you're sad and happy when you're happy, if a person is the opposite they are not your true friend. As the bible says, "A friend loveth at all times" Prov.17:17.
A true friend is a gift from God! :)

a good friend is someone who is there for you no matter what; even if they don't always agree with you, they stand by you. It has to work both ways though!
