No doubt about it. Thanks for raising this interesting question.

This observation begs to be further investigated because it does have an interesting social impact.

Football, especially the FIFA World Cup tournament, is one of the few things in life that can galvanise a nation and have such a phenomenal simultaneous reaction from across the globe in the few weeks of its competition.

It is quite thought-provoking and perhaps may teach us something about what moves man to become one with his fellow countrymen, temporarily overlooking race, colour, and religion.

Maybe there is still hope for this Earth if one day we realise that we too are one in this bigger team called the Human Race.

Then perhaps there will be peace.

In the short term: Absolutely.

I noticed this phenomenon when I lived in Dallas, Texas. Monday after a Dallas Cowboy loss was a very depressing day. After that, it fades.

American Football is not soccer, but in the US it is as important as Football is to the rest of the world. We just have our playoffs and super bowl every year!

Absolutely.Just look at Arsenal losing the Champions League last month.It raised the spirits in England immensely.

Yea they can. Look at Brasil such a poor country but still lots of facilities for upcoming talent I c it that way.
