According to Star Wars creator, George Lucas, if someone is going for absolute power, it's the SITH, they are all about Greed, Lust, Power & Hate, these things make you power hungry and more powerful.
The Jedi, don't have a desire for more power and are not willing to do anything to get it, the way the SITH are....Sith are more powerful, but with great power, comes arrogance & over-confidence, and that's the weekness of the Sith and why in the in, the Jedi win out....

The jedi are more powerful in terms of how to use the force, yes if you are talking about raw destructive energy the sith would be more powerful.

Actaully the Jedi is more powerful becasue they are taught how tto use the Force, the Sith know about the force but has no control over it. Thus making their ability to use the force unpredictable and more speractic.

in terms of raw power, it would be sith, but because of goodness the jedi have a drop more power.
