This is a youth football organization and myself and a few other people are interested in this because we have been around it for 2 years and the people who have this organized always say there is no money and it almost always is in the red.

my son plays in this league and a few other business people's sons do to and we are very interested in turning this league around and making it better for the kids.

I'm not sure you can buy a non-profit, though you should be able to take over management. Technically, since there are no profits, there should be little value, though there may still be actual assets such as gear.

It is important to know though that a not-for-profit organization that carries such a designation with the IRS CAN'T make a profit. They can manage their cash so as to not operate at a loss, but they can't be profitable. All money in has to go out.

So...perhaps this organization needs to be better run, or just needs more active fundraising.

Talk to whomever is running it. Maybe they'd like help or are willing to turn over the management reins.

Otherwise, start a for-profit company and take over the contracts for the other company.
