Wow, some very in depth analysis so far, let me see if I can add something to all the great dialog
1) starting pitching had been giving the team quality outings
2) the defense has not committed an error during the streak
3) most of their line-up is on a hot streak right now
4) they are getting clutch, 2-out hits throughout the line-up
That all adds up to good baseball (and sometimes even winning streaks). Even if they do not win another 9 in a row, they will consistantly win many ball games if they play like they are.

As a matter of fact, The Detroit Tigers have won 7 more games than the red sox.
In Fact, The Tigers have won 16 of thier last 19 games....so talk to me about winning...

I would say 1) because during a 162 game season most teams get on a roll and have a nice winning streak, and 2) with the payroll they have ($120 million) they SHOULD be winning games.

They still have one of the most potent lineups in baseball and their pitching has been decent enough and Papelbon has been lights out as a closer. But my Mets come to Fenway starting tonight and I have feeling the Sox are going to be cooled off a little.

Well the sox are gonna eventually start to lose, and the yanks will come back in first. sox are hosting the mets, which doesn't look to good for them, and the yanks have the braves. AL east race.

Hmm... let's see they have an Awesome Team. They have Manny in the outfield who almost always catches the ball. Their batting lineup is straight sickening..... I'd be afraid to pitch to them. They have the best players in the league. Yeah they may have lost some but they have the heart and soul of the game. That makes them winners!!! :)

Because they're all up in themselves and think they're better than everyone else. Soon they're gonna be losing 9 in a row with they're head up their butts!
