Seems they are always called right wing, but somehow I feel that isn't right.

They supported welfare programs for the Germans.
They banned companies from firing people.
They subsidized holidays for Germans (Kraft durch Freude).
They spead lies about the Jews, just as the modern left does about Israel.
They were very much in favor of natural laws, banned vivisection on pain of death.
Euthanasia is also something modern lefties like (culture of death).

Sounds pretty left wing/socialist to me. Come to think of it, they actually were socialists.

They seem left to me - trying to perfect the world. Okay left has not been so extreme to start exterminating people yet but on here lots have said they wanted to beginning with President Bush. They were definitely Socialist & the right can be called alot of things but not Socialist.

How does that make them socialists? Socialist are the people, the will of the people, for the people, by the people. The Nazi political machine controlled Germany, and, while there was support for the worker, the population as a whole was not embraced, and the worker did not have political control. If anything, they were communists. (Surprisingly, they did well enough as communists- not as well as Lenin, but they did do it right.)

Not to mention that the reason Hitler was so keen on "purifying his race" is because he believed in Darwin's theory of natural selection. Survival of the fittest - he wanted to exterminate the 'inferior' races so his race would evolve to a higher level... screwed up scary bastard!

In Mein Kampf, Hitler used the German word for evolution (Entwicklung) many times, citing "lower human types." He criticized the Jews for bringing "Negroes into the Rhineland" with the aim of "ruining the white race by the necessarily resulting ization." He spoke of "Monstrosities halfway between man and ape" and lamented the fact of Christians going to "Central Africa" to set up "***** missions," resulting in the turning of "healthy . . . human beings into a rotten brood of s." In his chapter entitled "Nation and Race," he said, "The stronger must dominate and not blend with the weaker, thus sacrificing his own greatness. Only the born weakling can view this as cruel, but he, after all, is only a weak and limited man; for if this law did not prevail, any conceivable higher development (Hoherentwicklung) of organic living beings would be unthinkable." A few pages later, he said, "Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Well put. I just love it when the liberals call conservatives Nazis. They're such sheep that they keep repeating the inaccurate comparison without knowing what they're talking about.

But, childish taunts are pretty much all they have. They call us names and make up silly rhymes to repeat when they march (without a permit usually) down the streets demanding to be heard. You can't have a logical, intelligent debate with a liberal. All you get is them screaming their silly little chants.

"Haliburton! Haliburton!" Do they know that Clinton also gave no-bid contracts to Haliburton?

"Bush lied, people died." Clinton's lies led to the terrorist attacks on 9-11 - not to mention all of the mysterious deaths of people who opposed him or threatened to reveal nasty secrets about his past. Ron Brown, Vince Foster, Wanita Broderick - do you think liberals know any of those names?

I could go on and on, but I'm preaching to the choir here. I just love to see them fall all over themselves with their ignorance. Does that make me an "evil conservative?" I certainly hope so!

Read a history book, please.

Hitler was a Fascist. Fascists are the right-wing. One of the very definitions of fascism involves its opposition to liberalism.

For crap's sake, read.

You forgot to mention they also banned guns. They took all the guns from the citizens. Mmmm, sound's like the left doesn't it.

They made them drive the same car, the VW bug actually, designed by Hitler as the People's Car, much like Al Gore's drive (no pun intended) to have us all in Hybrid's.

Yup, you NAILED it. Thank you.

They were left wing, then again I believe the left wing is just communism in a democratic society.

You have to put the "wing" terms in the perspective of time and place. What is thought of as left wing in one place and time can certainly be right wing in another.
