I have heard that the mercery in fish would harm children under 4 years of age if they ate it. Is this true?

No! Maybe if they ate mass quantities every single day..a little fish every now and then isn't going to hurt them.
A good tip...the bigger the fish, the higher the mercury levels...so, if you're worried, stay away from larger fish like swordfish.

i am allergic to fish, I found out at age 3, I got very sick...My neice is also allergice to fish...My sons doctor said that I should not try to feed him fish till hes at least 5 or 6 because if a child is allergic to fish the reaction can be more severe if they are younger.

i would say if they do not eat a whole lot no. while i was pregnant i was not allowed to eat more than like three cans of tuna. so i would say once in a while would be ok. if that concerned ask a pediatrician
