I don't want to imagine what the chlorine would do to his/her skin. You're not even supposed to bathe baby often with mild soap for goodness sakes. Why would you introduce chlorine at this age? Buy a blowup baby pool and fill with warm water if you're so gung ho about getting him/her in the pool.

Only if the temperature is up near 90. There little bodies cool off a lot faster than yours. I assume you mean putting your baby in the pool in YOUR arms, right?

I think it would be fine if you took her in the pool with you for a short period of time....of course you should never have her anywhere near a pool unsupervised, but in your arms just allowing her to check out the water wouldn't hurt her.

Babies that young still have very sensitive skin and the chlorine and other chemicals aren't good! you aren't even supposed to put sun screen on a baby until they are 6months so I'm guessing its not such a good idea.
As far as babies being born in pools... they are "birthing pools" with no added chemicals.

Ive taken all my kids to the pool and lake, and they lived. Just watch out for water in her ears, use sunblock and a over sized hat. You'll know when she is getting chilled just by being her mommy.

I don't think its a good idea because baby's ears go straight and adults don't that is why children get ear infections, the water and air goes straight to their ear drum and can cause deafness. when they get a little older and are able to tell you if the ear plugs are in or not is a better time for them to go in besides they don't know they are missing anything!!!

That's kind of young even if you don't plan on letting her "swim". The water would be too cold for such a little one.

I would say wait another month. Most YMCA's don't allow it until 3 months. I would think they knew what they were doing. At least I hope so.
