If you car is modern, 1998 and up the old term "wax" is not what you want. You need a resin or polymer based product to work with the paint that you have. Paint on cars is no longer paint but actually a high strength polymer plastic coating.

To place normal wax on a newer car results in no protection, black streaks down the sides from where the wax has melted or ran off during a rain storm.

3M or Meguiar's products and you can't go wrong. Many around here swear by Wizard's products as well. Bro/Pro products I have used with good results in the past.

If the car is prior to 1998 then the old "wax" is what you need. Brand name means nothing in this department as caranuba wax is caranuba wax. Just look for no. 3 or no. 4 caranuba for the best results.

Tip here to keep the nose cleaner, free of bugs, rock chips. Double, triple, quadruple up on the coats on the nose. The more layers you apply the deeper the protection. This in turns allows items like bugs not to stick as bad and rocks to bounce off without fracturing the paint which is what causes a chip.

I like good old turtle wax. Works really well, especially with a buffer.
