This one is tough. My boyfriend (30 yrs. old) doesn't know who is biological father is. His mother claims she "doesn't know". We have heard bits and pieces of things to lead us to believe she is lying that she doesn't know. We don't have a ton of money to spend on an investigator and don't want to do something like Dr. Phil. He has asked her a few times and the story changes. All we have to go off of is what high school she attended, what college she attended (this is about the time she got pregnant) and that's about it. There is no father listed on his birth certificate. Advice please!!??

The father was not in my boyfriends life because he was not allowed to be. His mom didn't want him to be. We don't even know if he knows that he has a son and now a granddaughter.

That's difficult and I'm sorry to hear that story. You guys will have to continue to play detective. Try talking to all her friends, family, brothers, sisters etc. See if they know anything about anything. Usually someone else knows the secret and holds onto it. I know you don't want to do the Dr. Phil thing, but It seems the only way. He has nothing to be ashamed of by the way, he was brought into this world and has a right to know who his father is. Good luck

sure, many better than you comprehend. Hereditary illnesses for one, even merely minor issues. If the baby has an hereditary ailment/difficulty, it could emerge that the guy they think of is their father isn't their organic and organic father. If a man or woman has an hereditary ailment, different individuals of the kin are examined to confirm in the event that they are at risk in this difficulty too - or perhaps merely examined to help the medical doctors comprehend the specifics of the difficulty, so that they might take care of the affected person good. this might happen actual at beginning, or in a protracted time at any degree in existence. There are basically many, many things which could coach this. perchance those issues wont additionally be extreme illnesses or problems, yet tests WILL exhibit the fact... sure, which contain blood tests, urine tests, etc. the fact could be printed this way even in spite of if that's neither the daddy or baby who has the ailment/difficulty/difficulty. It merely must be yet another kin member. you in user-friendly terms asked approximately tests, so as that's my answer - even nonetheless, there are various different techniques of uncovering the fact, and an excellent kind of not something to do with tests or scientific themes. undergo in concepts that we live in 2010.. guidance on the fact is by no ability too distant. Eyes, hair shade, epidermis tone.. those issues in a man or woman are actually not random. those issues come from genetics. If some thing is out of place, this is rather hassle-free to tell who's a father or not. this is probable best for you to end being egocentric, and commence being truthful with those adult males/that baby? Get a DNA paternity attempt accomplished, else human beings would be very, very, very offended at you interior the destiny, and additionally you will lose a heck of alot. Honesty is often the wonderful coverage, in spite of if it does not adventure you individually. Your husband merits to appreciate.

Sometime try to sneak around and try to figure out who her close friends and relatives were and try to talk to them about it.

DNA tests are expensive, trust me, I had to have one done. Where I"m at, it's $573 for the first one and so much for every individual after that one.

I would demand her to tell me who are the possibilities are, or forget ever seeing me again. That you have every right to know whether she is the one who doesn't want you to know or if it's the father. You want to know who he is and find out what he's like. It's every child's right to know who their father is when they are older but from experience, sometimes it is best for a child not to know one parent or the o ther while growing up.

I think a more important question is why do you want to find this person? If this man, this sperm donor, has not been in his life then why look for him? The mother might have a very good reason to keep them apart.
