Now to honestly answer your question the best I can. We understand that your mother has raised you, bathed you, nourished you, made sure your clothes were ironed, and bugged you to make sure you had clean underwear on when you leave in case you need an ambulance. Okay with that knowledge of a job well done, you're a man now or suppose to be. How are we the wives suppose to feel if you run to momma first whenever something happens or she calls? Like she herself said when she caught you masturbating for the first time, "There is a time and place for everything". So when we're about to get down to some hot bedroom aerobics here, now is not the time when she calls to say its okay to bring you the cookies she baked for you. And to have every Sunday dinner with her and subject us to having to listen of how she always fixes your meals just the way SHE knows you like them.

"White" women are not the only women...speaking as a Native American I have no desire to be in another woman's shadow. You should love your mother. You should respect your mother. However, you should also respect the fact that you are grown and it's time to start your own family with yourself as the head, not your mother.

2) The verses most people are referring to in the Bible stress the emphasis of the relationship between a husband and wife. A man, when he gets married, should now be loyal and direct most of his love to his wife...in my opinion.

The Bible does say literally to leave your Mother and join with your wife. Some Mothers are very selfish and try to impose upon their sons and can't stand to see him happy with a woman he loves. Such a woman can be referred to as a bitter, jealous mean Mother-in-Law.

uhhh....no offense but I think maybe because through marriage it is showing that their husband is grown up and ready to rely on someone else than their mother. I don't necessarily think they want their husband to stop loving their mothers or respecting them. I mean that is a pretty controlling or twisted bride that would want that to happen. Unless their mothers did something hard to forgive or forget.
