can you imagine trying to put something like Ronaldo Luíz Nazário de Lima on the back of a jersey? (by the way that's Ronaldo's full name), I think it's just easier, like Ronaldhino (which means little Ronaldo), goes by that name to distiguish himself from other football players with the name Ronaldo. by the way, Ronaldo de Assis Moreira is Ronaldhino and he added Gaucho to that at one point...think about the font size to get that on the back of his jersey...you wouldn't be able to read it from a foot away.
Fred isn't just Fred...his name is Frederico Chaves Guedes....

Ronaldinho means little ronaldo and ronaldo is their first names and kaka is one guy's sirname (his first name is riki). Ronaldo's full name is Ronaldo LuÃz Nazário de Lima and ronaldinho's is Ronaldo de Assis Moreira. I think it's easier to just use their first names.
