Both teams level after Full Time and Extra Time and have taken AT LEAST 5 penalty kicks each. The game then becomes sudden death and the FIRST team to miss a penalty/ or goalkeeper saves the penalty AFTER the other team has scored is the LOSER.

A while back the 'Golden Goal' situation was deemed by many to be sudden death, but penalties are the way to do it.

P.S It's called FOOTBALL (soccer is something that paul gascoigne and stan collymore used to do a few years back and their missus weren't too happy.)

There's no such thing as sudden death in soccer, after silver goal was introduced.

in the past, when golden goal was in place, the first team to score in extra time wins. but now, the full 30 mins of extra time is played before the winner is decided.

And if by then, the result is still a draw, the game goes into penalties.

note: this only applies in knockout games, where the match must have a winner.

It goes two overtimes (with two 15 minutes halves) amd then it goes to PK's, if no one scores during the two overtimes.

Sudden death it when you have a certain amount of time, and whichever team scores first is the team that wins.
