My next appointment is July 20, and I will be right at 10 weeks pregnant. I haven't gotten to see or hear my baby's heartbeat yet, and I will be 10 weeks before I get to do that. I was just wondering when other women who have been or are expecting go to see or hear their babies heartbeat for the first time?? I am just wondering if I should call for an earlier ultrasound because this wait is really really hard. thanks.

I just had an ultrasound a week ago. I was 10 weeks. I heard the heartbeat then. On the ultrasound, I was unable to see nothing more then a small ball the size of a grape. But the heartbeat was there loud and clear. Enjoy it. I cried.

11 weeks the first time, 13 weeks the second and third time. They used the listenign device, I didn't get ultrasounds until 20 weeks.

It's odd that they wouldn't let you hear the heartbeat all all yet. I'd ask about at least listening to it. They also sell electronic listening devices at most specialty baby stores (you might be able to give one a try).

I know it is hard to wiat, but I wouldn't worry about the baby. It's going to be just fine. Stressing yourself out is more harmful than anything. Just relax and think of all the things you have to look forward to.

Good luck with your pregnancy and delivery.... blessings!

I was 6 weeks along, but i am considered a high risk pregnancy, so they did an ultrasound early. They did an ultrasound and we could hear the heartbeat and see the heartbeat....It was amazing. They should let you hear it at 10 weeks though, congratulations!

I wasnt far along at all when i got to see the heart beat. Which was a total suprise to me that i got to see it. He was the size of a bean. But the first time i got to hear it was around 12 weeks. Funny you say the wait is hard, just keep calm. Cause the most exciting time is finding out what you are having... You can always call your DR and ask when they are going to do the interal unltrasound to see the baby's heart. Then that will give you a time frame and an idea of when it will be done... Good luck!!!

I was 9 weeks when I heard my son's heartbeat for the first time. Normally you don't get an ultrasound until you're about 20 weeks or so. Good luck!

I had early transvaginal ultrasounds with both of my babies, and saw their heartbeats at 6 weeks and 7 weeks, respectively. I heard them (using a doppler at my OB's office) at around 3 months I think. At 10 weeks, your baby's heartbeat might still be too faint/small to hear, so don't freak out if you can't hear it!

I actually had an ultrasound done at 9 weeks but i couldn't hear the heart beat. The last time i went was on June 15 and i got to hear the heart beat on a doppler. And they say that each time you go you get to hear it

I was between 10-11 weeks and I hear my babies heartbeat the first time. they say that you can only hear it after 10 weeks. it will sound really fast..but it brought tears to my eyes because it was beginning to sound so real. the best part is when they begin to move that is awesome. you have such a wonderous journey ahead of you enjoy every moment, best of luck to you and your little precious miracle.

i think around 10 or 12 weeks is about right. After that you'll hear it each time you go. You'll probably have your ultrasound around 20 weeks and by then you'll be able to tell the sex.

With my first child I was 33 weeks along. The doctor tried to hear it earlier, but he couldn't pick it up. P.S. I did not have ultrasound.
