they are really good but can anyone tell me what the ugly ducklings about?

The Ugly Duckling is great. It's about a woman who is rather plain, but married to a handsome rich guy. While at a party, violence breaks out. She gets wounded by shots to the face and her husband and child get murdered. The doctor in charge of her facial reconstruction turns her into a beauty...then she seeks revenge on those that injured her and killed her husband and child. It's really good with some good twists. I liked a lot, one of my favorite Johansen novels.

I've been a fan for a long time...the Ugly Duckling by definition is someone that starts ugly or plain but grows into beauty. Don't remember this story, but I read a lot. Maybe I'll pick it up again.
Try reading Dean Koonz "Lightning" bet you'll like it.

You really have to read that one. Always told she was ugly, has "accident" and plastic surgery, comes out gorgeous, of course, but the killer is still after her.
I love these books!!!!!!!!!!
